We are seeking an experienced Laundry/Dry Cleaning Supervisor to join our team and oversee daily operations. About the Opportunity
This is a hands-on supervisory role that combines operational oversight with direct involvement in laundry and dry cleaning processes. You’ll be responsible for scheduling work, training staff, monitoring quality, and handling emergency situations. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll ensure that all items from industrial articles to household goods—are cleaned to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule work and establish work procedures for laundry and dry cleaning staff.
- Arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed.
- Assist clients/guests with special needs and be the point of contact for emergency situations.
- Coordinate activities with other work units or departments.
- Monitor quality and production levels, ensuring standards are met.
- Oversee cleaning of specialty and difficult items.
- Prepare and submit progress and other reports.
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of 5-10 workers, including dry cleaning and laundry workers, ironing and finishing workers.
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Supervise office and volunteer staff as required.
- Wash or dry-clean industrial or household articles as needed.
Qualifications
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of supervisory experience in laundry, dry cleaning, or related field.
- Criminal record check required.
- Strong client focus and efficient interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Flexibility, initiative, judgment, and organizational skills.
- Reliability and team player mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with hot, odorous, and wet/damp conditions.
- Comfortable with combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
