Yarrawonga Health is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaners to join our Environmental Services team. Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitising:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Disinfect and sanitize surfaces in patient rooms, common areas, and other designated areas.
- Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces and areas prone to contamination.
Waste Management:
- Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables according to hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper handling of biohazardous materials.
Infection Control:
- Follow established infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the environmental services team to ensure a cohesive and efficient cleaning process.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and staff regarding specific cleaning requirements.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
Key Selection Criteria
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Essential:
- Must be able to work all shifts, including weekly, afternoon, weekends, and public holidays.
- Computer skills at a basic level.
- Understanding of confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
- Self-motivated with a high level of communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work alone.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in cleaning, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.
Skills and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
